Stephen Says Goodbye

Dear RFG fans,

It seems they are dropping like flys over here at Room For Gray headquarters.  After 2 1/2 years Stephen J. has decided he will no longer play with RFG.  He is welcoming another child into to his family and between that and working full time, going to school, and already being a Father he is finding it hard to find time for the band.  He has a few more shows left with us so don't forget to come out and wish him good luck!  He has been a great addition to this band and we are really going to miss him.  Fantastic drummer! 

Also, I know I have been terrible at updating the news page and I apologize.  I feel like with Facebook and Myspace it is hard to keep up with updating 3 pages.  Why don't people go to web pages anymore?  People all of the time say hey, do you guys have any shows I didn't see any on your Facebook....to which I reply...you should go to our website...it is way cooler than Facebook and it will tell you if there is a show. 

In other news we have started looking for Stephens replacement and we think we might have the man but I don't want to say yet because its not in stone.  We have our first full show in 2 weeks as a 3 piece so I am a little nervous about being the bass player again but we will see how I do.

Good news, Bad news

Hey everyone,

Good news is we are actually updating this news post right now which we sometimes get a little lazy with, bad news is it took almost 3 months.  There is some more good news and bad news so here goes.

After 2 years of seeing 9,345 faces and rocking them all, Jared Hedberg is leaving Room For Gray.  We are sad to lose him as a member of RFG and the fans are going to miss him as well.  He has been an important part of this band moving forward over the last 2 years and we can't thank him enough for his hard work and dedication. 

Some good news on that front is we have a few more shows with him, this Friday at Carbones in Rosemount and we are also working on a farewell show for him as well.  We will keep you posted.

Bad news, Mitch Robbins who has been filling in on lead guitar and managed the band for the last 4 years has up and moved to Denver.  He will be writing songs on Rocky Mountain High and also recruiting for jobs in the medical field when he gets time away.  I am sure you will see his face back up on stage with us again.  Good luck Robbins!

Good news,  the fella who started this band with James 7 1/2 years ago, the guy who puts the Roo- in Room For Gray, is back playing with us.  The past few shows have been fantastic with him on lead guitar and singing some lead vocals as well.  Good to have you back Roo-ski.

Lots of good shows coming up so keep a look out for one near you!

Summer...where did you go!

What a busy summer if you want to actually call it that.  I think this is the shortest coldest summer we can remember for the past 85 years.  It was a good one though.  We have an awesome free show this Friday playing the warm-up for the St. Paul Saints game which should be great.  You could come down, listen to a few RFG songs, check out the game and then head over to the State Fair and buy us some cheese curds. 

Mitch is celebrating his birthday today so give him a shout if you can.  Also we are working on something big for September which we should have more details in a few days.  We will keep you posted.

WE MADE IT

Finally, we made it.  Not to the big time yet but we did make it through 2 outdoor shows this weekend despite the weather which usually tries to take us down.  We had minimal rain this time around so we are pretty excited.  Just a little RFG history for you wondering why is this is such a big deal,  7 years as a band and roughly 90% of the time we have shows there is bad weather, 99% of our outdoor shows we have had over the years have been rained out or lightning-ed out.  We had 2 great shows this weekend and we met some new faces and ran into a few old RFG'ers.  Blarney Pub coming up this Friday if you like having a good time you should come out!

Pickle Park Video

What a great show at G.B. Leightons Pickle Park.  The crowd started a little slow but by the end the place was a rockin'.  We decided that show would be a great time to record the show so we are working on getting that posted to our site soon.  Had a couple weekends off in a row to get ready for the second half of our summer shows starting with next Friday night.  We are going to be opening the night of music off at 7:00 pm at St. Croix Falls annual Wannigan Days.  We are pretty excited because this is the bands first show in St. Croix Falls and our first outdoor concert in a few years.  We are hoping for great weather.  Come up and say hi to us and we are still waiting to hear your feedback from our latest CD "The Next Step."
